The Institut français has joined forces with the ANR for the 6thth edition of the "Traversées des Mondes" Research and Creation Meetings organised on 9th, 10th and 11th July 2019 as part of the Avignon Festival.
This new edition will explore the founding stories of civilizations and the Odysseuses who, from ancient times to the present day, tell their stories of adventure and exile, structured around 4 themes:
- Civilisations and Imaginaries
- After the war!
- Stories: founding society
- Desires from elsewhere: polyphonies, hybridization and utopias
Anthropologists, historians, sociologists, philosophers, musicologists, specialists in theatrical and literary studies, psychology, science and cognitive neuroscience will interact with artists and the public to push the boundaries of knowledge and open up new perspectives.
On 11th July, a Forum on “Cultural Intelligences – Perceiving, interpreting, knowing and inventing”, organised by the ANR, the Avignon Festival and the CNRS will offer an opportunity to compare the reflections and experiences of those involved in culture and research on the role of culture and creation in basic learning, human development and the development of societies. Artists, representatives of scientific and cultural institutions and researchers will discuss three themes with the public:
- Perception, emotion, language, cognition: basic learning through the prism of culture
- Representing the world and reinventing it
- For reflective societies: the role of culture
This event, of which the Instituts français is a partner, is part of the Ministry of Culture's 60-year history.
