For the new school year in September 2020, the Institut français is launching a new platform to promote film education in Europe, the European Film Factory, supported by the MEDIA sub-programme of the Creative Europe programme.

The programme has been developed in partnership with ARTE Education, subsidiary of ARTE, the European cultural television channel behind the digital education service Educ’ARTE, and European Schoolnet, a not-for-profit organisation which brings together thirty-four Education Ministries in Europe.

European Film Factory is an innovative and pragmatic response to supporting film education in Europe. It enables students from 11 to 18 years old and teachers from all member States of the Creative Europe programme to access free of charge an online catalogue of ten films in European film heritage selected by a European jury of professionals of film history and education.

The European Film Factory platform can be accessed on all devices (computers, tablets, smartphones). It has been designed as a real film education tool, and is available in 8 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Greek, Polish and Romanian) and offers pedagogical guides and innovative interactive tools focussed on the films: mind maps, annotations or clips of specific scenes.
