The VR Arles Festival and the Institut français are pleased to repeat, for the fourth edition of the festival, a writing residence dedicated to immersive practices, which will be held in Arles from 26 to 31 August 2019.

The VR Arles Festival and the Institut français have joined forces to offer a writing residence dedicated to immersive practices for the second year running. For a week, the residence will offer participants, hosted at the Saint-Césaire convent in Arles, practical workshops, individual support, writing time, discussion time, meetings and master classes with professionals from the world of immersive realities, visual arts, sound, performing arts and images. The aim of the writing residence for virtual reality is to enable authors and artists to develop an innovative writing project for virtual reality, to deepen their knowledge of the creative and narrative potential of immersive technologies, to inspire the writing of a virtual reality project, to enable an understanding of the related technical constraints and to facilitate the convergence of different artistic forms.

Below is the list of 2019 residents:

Marion Burger & Ilan Cohen, for Empereur (Emperor)

Alice Lepetit, for Bleue (Blue)

Nadia Micault, for Zen ou Prèsque (Zen or Almost)

Alexandre Perez, for EGO

Jeanne Susplugas, for I Will Sleep When I’m Dead
