The French Pavilion has been entrusted to the architect Christophe Hutin and his multidisciplinary team, presenting the contributions arising from a laboratory of “resident communities at work”.

In 2020, Hashim Sarkis, head curator of the Venice Biennale 17th International Architecture Exhibition, sent out an invitation to the international architecture community in the form of a challenge: “How will we live together?”

Today, this theme has taken on a new urgency in the context of the world health crisis. Current times and the real, concrete ways in which they have challenged all our points of reference, mark the start of an era in which, together, we must invent new social, environmental and political paradigms. Hutin has provided an optimistic response by inviting architects, communities of residents and citizens to claim back their environment and invent new aspirations to dialogue and solidarity.
