4 films supported by the Aide aux cinémas du monde fund awarded at the Festival de Cannes

Four films supported by the Aide aux cinémas du monde fund (CNC / Institut français) have been awarded at the 72nd edition of the Festival de Cannes.

Caméra d'or

César Diaz, Guatemalan director, wins the Caméra d’Or with Nuestras Madres. Each year the Caméra d'or is given to the best first film from all the festival sections. The Caméra d’or Jury was presided by Rithy Panh.

Nuestras Madres, which had been supported by the 1st college of the Aide aux cinémas du monde fund (CNC – Institut français), has also been granted the SACD Award at the Semaine de la critique.

    • Bacurau by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles (ex-aequo with Les Misérables by Ladj Ly)

    • It Must Be Heaven by Elia Suleiman (also International's critic prize by the FIPRESCI)
