On the occasion of the Lyon Biennial, Taoufiq Izeddiou, Director of the Marrakech International Contemporary Dance Festival and the members of the Artistic Committee of the African Dance Biennial, Salia Sanou (Burkina Faso), Faustin Linyekula/Virginie Dupray (DRC), Qudus Onikeku (Nigeria), QuitoTembe (Mozambique), Alioune Diagne (Senegal), Hafiz Dhaou (Tunisia/France) and Gregory Maqoma (South Africa) announced the launch of the African Dance Biennial, which will take place in Marrakech from 23rd to 28th March 2020.

This biennial is a platform for launching new projects, discovering new talents, presenting existing projects and hosting professionals from all over the world to contribute to the visibility and dissemination of contemporary creation.

The 2020 Edition will be run by the Marrakech International Dance Festival “On marche” in Morocco and will see a change in its governance. To this end, Taoufiq Izeddiou, director of “On marche”, has taken over the Biennial and surrounded himself with an artistic committee that will support him in the programming, orientation and organisation of the event.
