The Residency Factory is aimed at Instituts français, Alliances Françaises and Cultural Services of French Embassies wishing to launch a residency programme. To respond to the growing demand from the French cultural network abroad to set up residencies at their facilities or with a local partner, the Institut français offers a scheme that aims to support the network at a technical and financial level for the development and construction of artists’ residencies.
In the context of the current sanitary crisis, the Institut français has closed the doors of its Paris location since March 16th, in order to protect the health of its employees. From now on, all the members of staff are working remotely to best fulfill its public service missions, to support and accompany all of its partners, especially the French cultural network abroad.
In the current context of an international health crisis, the entire cultural network abroad is working to ensure the continuity of its services and missions. In particular, given the closure of many establishments, alternative solutions are being implemented every day to maintain the link with the public, offer educational continuity, and maintain actions related to cultural promotion, dissemination and cooperation.
With the aim of sharing the responses provided by the network more widely throughout the world, the Institut français proposes to list the initiatives developed to address this situation.
This first brief list will be completed quickly and regularly updated.
