Artist Zineb Sedira, who will represent France at the 59th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2022, has chosen the curatorial team comprised of Yasmina Reggad, and Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath of Art Reoriented to curate her exhibition for the French Pavilion.
La Fabrique des Résidences is intended for Instituts Français, Alliances Françaises and Cultural Services of French Embassies. It supports residency programmes in the Network from the conception phase through to their implementation.
The Commission of the Fabrique des résidences met on 8 July 2021. The jury selected 14 projects from 19 applications received.
Tunis will host the General Assembly on French-Language books around the world on 23 and 24 September 2021. The General Assembly was announced in the Plan for the French language and multilingualism presented by the President of the Republic in March 2018, and forms one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary of La Francophonie and is part of the context of the Heads of State Summit to be held in November 2021 in Djerba. The challenge of this event is to contribute to developing access for all French-speaking publics to books and reading by removing the obstacles identified in producing, distributing and circulating French books, works and authors in the world. The event will be broadcast live on this page, from 10.30 am (Paris time) on 23 September 2021.
University researcher and radio journalist Alice Lefilleul presents the first season of the podcast Autrement dit, a co-production between the Institut français and the association Making Waves.
The Committee for the Aide aux cinémas du monde (CNC – Institut français) gathered on 26 and 27 July 2021.
The Institut français and its partners France Médias Monde, the Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de Musique (SACEM), and the International Organisation of la Francophonie (IOF) are presenting a hybrid programme for La Fabrique Cinéma 2021, with meetings set up between foreign participants and a number of cinema professionals since the end of May. They will then continue their mentor programme in Cannes, at the Cinémas du Monde pavilion, accompanied by director Danielle Arbid.
