Promote, disseminate, support... Discover the work of the Institut français to promote French culture around the world and engage with foreign cultures !

European cooperation at the Institut français

One of the new missions entrusted to the Institut français on its creation was to affirm the European dimension of France's cultural action abroad.

Our objectives are as follows:

To make the Institut français a visible, recognised and influential player on the European scene by increasing its partnerships and participation in European initiatives;
To develop the Institut's capacity to implement projects co-financed by the European Union by working to take greater account of European policies and objectives in our actions;
To raise the Network's and our partners' awareness of European priorities and policies on the one hand, but also of the cross-disciplinary issues supported by European institutions (Sustainable Development Goals, Culture and Development, social impact of projects, Green Pact for Europe, etc.).

All over the world, from the AFAA (Association française d'action artistique) to CulturesFrance, now part of the Institut français, we are happy to make known the ideas, works and expertise of French creators who are always eager to enrich themselves and flourish in the company of other cultures.

France-Portugal 2022 Season - The Prime Minister of Portugal and the French Minister for Culture open three exhibitions in Paris

A look back on the visit to France of Mr. Antonio Costa, Prime Minster of Portugal, as part of the France-Portugal 2022 Season and the inaugurations of the “L’âge d’or de la Renaissance portugaise” (The Golden Age of the Portuguese Renaissance) exhibition at the Louvre Museum, “Le reste est ombre (The rest is shadow) – Pedro Costa, Rui Chafes, Paulo Nozolino” at the Centre Pompidou, and “Gulbenkian par lui-même, dans l’intimité d’un collectionneur” (Gulbenkian by himself, the intimate world of a collector) in the gallery dedicated to the temporary exhibitions of the Collection Al Thani at the Hôtel de la Marine.

NAFAS: new recipients in arts and crafts

The Institut français is pleased to announce the list of the first artisans selected for the program “NAFAS, 100 résidences d’artistes libanais en France”, implemented with the support of GALOP (exclusive distributor of Hermès in Lebanon) and the collaboration of the Institut français du Liban.

Immersive Experiences, Dance and Circus: the Institut français is offering three FOCUS events for foreign professionals in June

Organised in partnership with events and partners that attract the interest of foreign professionals, the Institut français FOCUS events bring together professionals as guests of the French cultural network abroad for a few days. Their aim is to facilitate identifying French cultural creation sectors and encourage their distribution in the world.

In June, the Institut français is offering 3 different FOCUS events: Immersive Experiences (XR), Circus and Street Arts, Dance.
